Rodney Jacobs, 66, of Fields, passed away on Tuesday, August 7, 2018 at his residence. He was born on November 4, 1951 in Lake Charles, LA to his late parents, Paul and Hazel Jacobs. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling, cooking, and joking with his grandkids with his wild stories and adventures. He worked as a Sulphur Police officer and retired from Exxon Mobil after 40 years of service. He is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Bobbie Jacobs; one son, Paul Michael Jacobs of Lake Charles; one daughter, Lorin O’Neal and husband Marc of Baton Rouge; one stepson, Michial LeBlanc and wife Lynn of Magnolia, TX; stepdaughters, Tammy Brown and husband Walter of Kennedale, TX, Tonia LeBlanc of DeQuincy; one sister, Debbie Kay Tutton and husband Jimmy of Spurger, TX; grandchildren, Casey, Jacob, and Brenden O’Neal; Jessica and Mathew LeBlanc; Dylan and Dalton LeBlanc; Kennedy and Tyler Durbin; Ryan, Leah, and Reid Brown; Kyle, Braydon and Corbin Peveto; one great grandson, Giani Engstrom; along with numerous nieces and nephews, many great nieces and nephews; and a multitude of friends, never meeting a stranger. Rodney is preceded in death by his parents; step parents, Gertrude Jacobs and David Showman; sister, Sharon Jacobs Odom; stepson, Kevin LeBlanc; and one grandson, Colton Peveto. Services will be held at Hixson Snider Funeral Home on Saturday, August 11, 2018 at 2:00pm. Visitation will be at Hixson Snider Funeral Home on Friday, August 10, 2018 from 5:00-8:00pm. Visitation will resume on Saturday at the funeral home from 11:00am until the time of the service. Burial will follow at Hyatt Cemetery.
