Funeral service for Robert Wendell Aderholdt, 65, of Auburn is Saturday, May 5, 2007, at 11:00 a.m. at Jeffcoat-Trant Chapel. Burial is in Auburn Memorial Park Cemetery. The Rev. Mike Owens is officiating. Visitation is Saturday one hour prior to the service at Jeffcoat-Trant Funeral Home.

Dr. Aderholdt, who died Wednesday, May 2, 2007, at his home was born July 31, 1941, in Jacksonville, AL. He graduated from Auburn University with a BS in Mechanical Engineering in 1966, and MS in Mechanical Engineering in 1968. He received his PhD from Georgia Tech in 1973. He taught 8 years at the University of Florida in the Department of Building Construction, and returned to Auburn in 1980. Dr. Aderholdt Professor Emeritus, was with Auburn University Department of Building Science for 27 years.

He was preceded in death by his father, Wendell H. Aderholdt.

Survivors include his wife, Carolyn T. Aderholdt, daughter, Susan (John) Luck of Opelika; son Mark (Kathryn) Aderholdt of Auburn; mother, Sara L. Rivers Aderholdt of Auburn; 3 loving grandsons, Robert Luck, Opelika, Hayden and Parker Aderholdt of Auburn; brothers, Jimmy Aderholdt of Jacksonville, AL, Joseph (Joyce) Aderholdt of Milton, FL, sisters, Kay Boozer of Weaver, AL, Jeanne (Vic) Webb of Del Norte, CO; uncle, Robert H. Rivers; aunt, Hazel Rudolph; nieces and nephews, John Thrasher, Anne Thrasher, Sam Boozer, John Aderholdt, Eric Boozer, James Adernoldt, Robyn Owens, Ted Boozer, Burt Aderholdt, Glenn Aderholdt, Katy Aderholdt, and Chris Thrasher.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be directed to the East Alabama Food Bank, or the Bob Aderholdt Endowed Professorship, Department of Building Science, 201 Miller Gorrie Center, Auburn University, AL 36849.
