Also surviving are their six sons: Roger (Treva) Schulze of Huntsville, OH., Ron (Linda) Schulze of Montezuma, Dennis (Pam) Schulze, Tom Schulze, Steven (Carla) Schulze, all of New Bremen and Allan (Tash) Schulze of Montezuma; eighteen grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren. Other survivors include his four brothers: Alvin Schulze of St. Marys, Walter (Dolores) Schulze of Osgood, Erwin (Eileen) Schulze of Cassella and Victor (Judy) Schulze of McCartyville. Preceding him in death were his sister Margaret Dircksen and his brothers Elmer, Leander and Wilbert Schulze.
Mr. Schulze was a member of the Church of the Holy Redeemer in New Bremen. He was also a lifetime member of the American Legion Post 588 of Osgood and a member of the F.O.E. 1391 of Minster. He served stateside with an arms supply unit in the U.S. Navy during WW II. In 1987 he retired from the former New Idea Corp. in Coldwater after over 34 years of service and had been engaged in farming his entire life.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Tuesday, March 15, 2011 at 10:30 A.M. at the Church of the Holy Redeemer with Rev. Thomas Mannebach officiating. Burial will follow at the German Protestant Cemetery, New Bremen. Calling hours will be on Monday, March 14, 2011 from 3 until 8 P.M. at the Gilberg-Hartwig Funeral Home in New Bremen and on Tuesday from 9:30 until 10:00 A.M. at the church at which time the Rosary will be prayed. Memorial contributions can be made to the Community Health Professionals, Celina, OH.
