Lorenzo was known by his mother's maiden name, Creekmore. His mother married John Perkins in 1891 and said on the marriage application that it was her first marriage. The name Perkins appears on her tombstone (see her F.A.G. memorial linked to this one). Also, Lorenzo's son Garrett was the informant on Lorenzo's death certificate (see image on this memorial), and he apparently said Lorenzo's biological father was a "John Menours" and so the name Menours appears as Lorenzo's own surname on the 1945 death certificate.

According to FamilySearch transcriptions (as accessed 2-6-2024), Lorenzo was known as:

L. D. Creekmore as a 5-year-old in the 1870 Federal Census.
L. D. Creekmoreas a teenager in the 1880 Federal Census.
Dow Creekrush in the 1900 Federal Census.
Dow Creekmore on the 1907 marriage record of his daughter Eveline.
Loranzy Creekmore in the 1910 Federal Census.
Laranzy D. Creekmore in the 1920 Federal Census.
Lurenda D. Crechmore in the 1930 Federal Census.
Dow Creekmore on the 1937 death certificate of his son [Henry] Ledford/Lesford.
Loranza Creekmore in the 1940 Federal Census.
Loranzia Dow Menours [sic] on his 1945 death certificate. {The informant was G. R. Creekmore [Lorenzo's son Garrett Radford], but the surname for the deceased is clearly "Menours." See image on this memorial.,]
Dow Creekmore on his 1945 grave marker.
Dow Creekmore on the 1946 death certificate of his son John William.
Dow Creekmore on the 1965 death certificate of his son Garrett.

Y-chromosome DNA testing by a direct male descendant of Lorenzo, if it should result in a strong match with someone named Menours, might unlock the mystery of identifying Lorenzo's biological father.
