OCEANSIDE — H. Clyde Mathis, 74, died Wednesday, Feb. 20, 1991, at Scripps Encinitas Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Mathis was born July 4, 1916, in Loa, Utah. H had lived in the San Diego County area for 16 years. He was an owner/operator of a carpet-cleaning company for 20 years. He was a veteran of World War II, served as staff sergeant in the U.S. Army and was a member of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Posse.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Mathis of Oceanside; two sons, Nicholas Mathis and Michael Mathis; a brother, Jim Mathis of San Clemente; sister, Charlotte Dee Bergera of Redwood Valley; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Saturday Feb. 23, 1991, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Eternal Hills Mortuary Chapel. Services will be held Saturday, Feb. 23, 1991, at 11 a.m. at Eternal Hills Mortuary Chapel. Interment will be held at Eternal Hills Memorial Park. Arrangements are entrusted with Eternal Hills Mortuary.
