James L. Ford, 87, passed away Wednesday, August 8, 2018. James was born on September 11, 1930 in Benson, Louisiana to James J. Ford and Loda Rascoe Ford; he was one of 13 children. He proudly served in the United States Army and was a Korean War veteran. He had a beautiful daughter Melba (Garland) who gave him 2 granddaughters. When James married Betty he gained 3 more children, Charles (Joyce), Marsha (Robert), Richard (Patricia – deceased); 20 more grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. He leaves to mourn his wife of 41 years, Betty Ford, his loving sister, Danita who called him daily. The conversation would only last for a minute or so but it was so sweet. He is preceded in death by his siblings, Kenneth, Henry, Fred, Elsie, Loda Bell, Mildred, Rose, Miriam, Ruth, Clayton and Gracie. A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at Rosewood Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 15, 2018 at Rosewood Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Rosewood Memorial Park with a flag presentation by the VFW Post #4709. Honored to serve as pallbearers: Charles Watson Jr., Robert Gonzalez, Michael Gonzalez, Mark Soto, Jimmy Bailey, and Jimmy Bell; Honorary Pallbearer, Richard Watson.
