Wilma Jean Crowley Howard of San Angelo, died Monday, August 6, 2018, at the age of 95. She was born in November 5, 1922, in Shawnee, Oklahoma, to Sam Norton and Ethel Elizabeth (Lynch) Crowley.

Wilma grew up in various places in Oklahoma and Texas, as her father worked for Sun Oil Company, finally ending up in Pampa, TX, where she met and married Emmett Howard. Because of his job at the Texas Department of Health as an inspector, they moved first to Sherman, TX, and finally to San Angelo until Emmett's death in 1980.

Wilma worked as a secretary for several San Angelo lawyers until her retirement in the 90's. Wilma and Emmett were active members of Park Heights (later The Heights) Baptist Church, each holding various posts - from deacon to Sunday School teacher.

She is survived by her son, Joe (and wife Glenda) Howard of Grand Prairie, TX, and daughter Ann Howard of San Angelo; grandchildren Courtney (Aaron) Byrd and Bradley (Alyse) Howard, all of Phoenix, AZ; great-grandchildren, Katherine and Carter Byrd of Phoenix; many beloved nieces and nephews; as well as many beloved friends.

Wilma was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; her two brothers Deb of Comfort, TX, and Howard, of Everett,WA; her two sisters, Kathy Hargis, of McAllen, TX, and Helen King of Everett, WA; and a special grand-dog, Beau.

Visitation will be at Harper Funeral Home, Friday, August 10, from 6 pm to 8 pm. Funeral will be Saturday, August 11, at 10 am at The Heights, with Dr. James Miller officiating. Interment will follow at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens.
