Bernice Evelyn Le Garde, 81, of Grand Portage, Minn died Tuesday, August 7, 2018 at Northshore Care Center in Grand Marais. She was born September 5, 1936 in Cloquet, Minn to Herman “Sven” and Cecilia (La Sage) Hendrickson.
Bernice married Gordon Le Garde in 1955. She worked as a receptionist at the Grand Portage Community Center. She was a devout Catholic and was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Grand Portage. She enjoyed playing bingo, and she was a great cook. She was always there for her family, and especially enjoyed spending time with them.
She was preceded in death by her parents; children: Andre, Gordon, Jr., Victoria Le Garde Raske and Kathleen Le Garde; and her husband Gordon on September 4, 2004.
Bernice is survived by her grandchildren: Adam Le Garde, Lynette Le Garde, and Heather Hoaglund; five great-grandchildren; and her sister Geraldine Kozlowski.
