She was the loving wife of Raymond F. Rush for 53 years. Shirley was born in Sellersville, Pennsylvania to the late Stanley Rosenberger and the late Alice (Moyer) (Rosenberger) Bolton.
She graduated from Pennridge High School in Perkasie, class of 1963. Shirley worked as a clerk for the former H.E. Bishop in Dublin, PA and for the former Roger's Roadstand in Perkasie, PA. She was a former secretary for the local Weight Watchers Chapter and a former secretary for Life with God Broadcast.
Shirley was a lifelong member of the Blooming Glen Mennonite Church where she served in the Summer Bible school program and as a class shepherd of the Ambassadors Sunday school class.
She loved spending time with her grandchildren whom she considered “a gift from God.” Shirley was a caregiver and role model to her grandkids. She enjoyed annual family trips, camping, going to hymn sings with her husband, and attending her grandsons’ sporting events and her granddaughter’s piano recitals. Shirley’s ministry was sharing her love of cooking and baking for her family and friends. She enjoyed gardening and making a variety of craft items which she sold at holiday seasons.
Shirley was a godly, giving, caring, compassionate woman who was always willing to help others and was a good storyteller.
She is survived by her son, Dale Rush & wife, Connie of Silverdale, PA; her two daughters, Brenda Rush & companion, Brad Nace of Greeley, CO, Charlene Burke & husband, Mark of Telford, PA; her three grandsons, Kordell Rush of Silverdale, PA, Austin Rush of Silverdale, PA, Ryan Burke of Telford, PA; and her granddaughter, Taylor Burke of Telford, PA.
In addition to her parents and husband, Shirley was preceded in death by her brother, Merrill Rosenberger and her infant sister, Marilyn Rosenberger.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, August 12, 2018 from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm at Blooming Glen Mennonite Church, 713 Blooming Glen Road, Blooming Glen, Pennsylvania 18911, followed by a memorial service at 7:00 pm.
