Myrtle J. (Friesen) Meeker died April 5, 2002, in Redmond at the age of 63.
Mrs. Meeker was born Oct. 6, 1938, in Rock Springs, Wyoming, to parents Alva and Bessie (Binning) Friesen. She married Edwin D. Meeker. They were later divorced. For many years, she ran a feed barn in Redmond, where she lived since 1946.
She enjoyed being a 4-H leader, loved working with animals, was an avid reader and had a good sense of humor.
Survivors include her father, Alva Friesen of Culver; daughter, Trina Brotherton of Silverton; sister, Anna Marie Watson of Spanaway, Washington; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother.
A memorial service will be held April 13, at 2 p.m., at Redmond Memorial Chapel in Redmond, with Carrol McIntosh officiating. Memorial contributions have been suggested to the Central Oregon 4-H Clubs. Arrangements were under the direction of Redmond Memorial Chapel.
