Funeral director & embalmer. A member of a pioneer family of Contra Costa County he first worked with his brother Henry at his funeral home in Martinez. He then later operated his own funeral home for 28 years in Richmond, California , the first location was at 132 Washington Avenue in Point Richmond and the second one was located at 332 11th Street. His street 'Curry' right across the street from the cemetery is named for his family. His father, James ran a horse & coach passenger wagon service that carried those who got off the streetcars at the county line and take them to the cemetery entrance and to others parts of the El Cerrito-Richmond areas. The former Schmidt-Dixon Richmond Funeral Home were successors to Bert Curry, as Mrs. Winifred Curry Dixon and her parents were related to Bert.
