Carol Frances (Schmitt) Gilbert, 82, of Rialto, California, passed away on August 6, 2018 in Fontana, California. Carol was born to John M. Schmitt and Lucille B. Johnson on November 25, 1935 in Wahpeton, North Dakota.

Carol was a retired secretary, having worked for the Fontana Artificial Limb and Brace Company.

Carol was an energetic woman with a love for life. She enjoyed spending time playing Bingo with friends. Carol also loved baseball and was an avid Angels Baseball fan. Her family had her heart. Carol absolutely loved watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren play softball and baseball. She also enjoyed sipping her Starbucks coffee and was affectionately known by her friends as "the pretty lady".

Carol will be missed by her family. She is survived by her son John Gilbert and his wife Paula; her daughter Colleen Bradley; 10 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Gary.

A funeral mass will be celebrated 10:30 am, Thursday, August 16, 2018 at St. Catherine Siena Catholic Church in Rialto. Interment will be at 1:01 pm, Thursday, August 16, 2018 at Riverside National Cemetery in Riverside.
