Carl F. Leonard transitioned on Saturday, August 4, 2018, in Hampton, Va., after a long illness.
Carl was born March 20, 1957 in Newport News, Va., to the late Percy and Arlene Leonard. He grew up in Hampton, Va., graduating from Hampton High School in 1975. Carl was baptized at Zion Baptist Church in Newport News at an early age and remained faithful to God.
He worked at the Newport News Shipyard for numerous years.
Carl was predeceased by his parents, and his brother, Lee Leonard "Buck".
Carl is survived by his sister, Dr. Joyce Keene (Wayne) of Hampton, Va.; niece, Trina Hedgepeth of Suitland, MD; niece, Dr. Taya Keene and nephew, Wayne Keene, Jr. of Virginia Beach, Va.; niece, Dr. Staci Keene-Carter (Princeton) of Chapel Hill, NC.; nephew, Michael Hair and niece, Monique Hair of Suitland, MD; great-niece, Jordyn Keene of Virginia Beach, Va.; great niece, Camille Carter of Chapel Hill, NC; great-nephew, Jabar're of Suitland, MD; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
The memorial service will be held Saturday, August 11, 2018 at Cooke Bros. Funeral Chapel. A private Interment will take place at Hampton Memorial Gardens, Hampton, Va.
