David Leon Tucker, 89, of Lonsdale, went to be with his Lord on Sunday, January 10, 2021. He was born March 29, 1931, in Griffith Springs to James Young and Mattie Estelle Shumake Tucker.

Leon was a loving, Christian man who loved his family. He was a devoted spouse, a loving father and grandfather, and a friend to many. He grew up in Linwood and was a proud Pine Bluff graduate in the class of 1950. At the age of 17, he bought a dump truck with his Dad as a co-signer. When he wore out that truck, he bought another on his own at the age of 19. He began working at AP&L, where he met the love of his life, Joree, and they were married on his 21st birthday. He retired from Entergy in 1991 after 37 years and began to raise Red Poll cattle for the next 22 years on his farm in Lonsdale, Ark. Leon was a member of First Baptist Church of Benton, the Treasurer of his Sunday School Class and was a member of the Morning Glories and the Strummers. He will be missed but his memory will be cherished but his legacy will continue on through those who loved and cared for him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Joree Ridgway Tucker; son, David L. Tucker; siblings, Nova Koon, Vera Huckaby, Clara Storz Crowder, Clyde Tucker, JY Tucker, Travis Tucker, Louise Granderson Turner, and Vesta Thrash.
