Dad was a professional violinist. Played in pit orchestras at the Palace Theatre in Rockford, IL. Dad was Concert Meister with the Rockford Symphony Orchestra. He taught violin for a number of years, and co-owned Stanley's Music Shop in Rockford from 1938 until 1982 with my mother Vauda (Knowles) Stanley. He was an active member of the Rockford Music Association. He played at Nursing Homes, Nightclubs and for Plays.
