Carolina Whitsett Frye Harper, 85, of Route 5, Pruntytown Community, Grafton, died Monday (July 3, 2000) at her home.
She was born March 15, 1915, in Sardis, Ohio, a daughter of the late Dr. John William and Eunice Moore Whitsett.
She was the former operator of the Tygart Roller Rink in Grafton and the Frye-Harper Roller Skate Manufacturing Co. in Grafton. She was a member of the Blueville Church of Christ in Grafton.
She is survived by one son, James Russell Frye of Pruntytown Community, Grafton; one grandson, Chris Frye of Baltimore; two sisters, Eunice Black of Fairmont, and Virginia Johns of Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.; and a stepson, Frank Harper of Mineral Wells.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Russell Sampson Frye; her second husband, Samuel Clark Harper; a son, Melvin Lee Frye; a daughter, Nancy Frye; three brothers, Dr. Charles Whitsett, John T. Whitsett and James E. Whitsett; a granddaughter, Nancy Sue Frye; and a stepson, Joseph Harper.
A graveside funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Riverview Cemetery in Williamstown, with Evangelist Jeff Johnson officiating. Ford Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
