Mrs. Peggy Cole Reid, age 80 of Carrollton, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, August 7, 2018. She was born March 12, 1938 in Carroll County, Georgia, the daughter of the late Robert Lewis Cole and the late Jessie Stamps Cole. She retired from Sewell Mfg. Company with twenty-nine years of service, and was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by son, Mark A. Reid; grandchild, Robert S. Reid; brothers: Herbert Cole and C. E. Cole; and sisters: Betty Ann Smith and Janice Kittle. Survivors include her husband, Chester LeRoy Reid of Carrollton; son, Steven L. Reid of Carrollton; brothers: Houston and Merial Cole, Carrollton, Michael and Charlsie Cole, also of Carrollton, Dwayne and Beth Cole of Anchorage, AK, Wendell and Brenda Cole of Carrollton, and Barry and Fredia Cole of Hiram; sisters: Robbie Akin (the late Lawrence J. Akin), Bremen, Charlotte Muse (the late Sherron Muse), Carrollton, and Bonnie and William Jenkins, also of Carrollton; brother-in-law, Wilbur Reid of West Palm Beach, FL; and sister-in-law, Joanne and John Morris of Temple. Services will be conducted Thursday, August 9, 2018 at 4:00 PM from Pleasant View Baptist Church with Dr. Dwayne Cole, Rev. Tommy Frost, and Rev. Chad Eason officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
