Christopher Ryan Hicks, 23 years of age of Jolo, WV, passed away Sunday, August 5, 2018 in St. Mary’s Medical Center in Huntington, WV. Born November 8, 1994 in Beckley, WV, he was the son of Vickie Lynn Lester Fife of Jolo, WV and the late Gary Lee Hicks, Sr.
Chris enjoyed four-wheeling, fishing and writing song lyrics and music. He was a loving son, grandson and brother.
In addition to his father, Gary Lee Hicks, Sr. he was preceded in death by his brother Little Gary Lee Hicks, Jr. and paternal grandparents Hobert and Gaynell Wimmer Hicks.
Survivors in addition to his mother Vickie Lynn Lester Fife and step-dad Ralph Fife of Jolo, WV, include his sister Jennifer Vance and husband Justin of Jolo, WV; brother Wayne Fife and wife Darby of Hansonville, NC.
He is also survived by his maternal grandparents John D. Lester and Carol Perkins Lester of Bartley, WV; uncles John Lester and fiancé Brenda Muncy of Tazewell, VA, Larry Hicks and wife Ruby of Jolo, WV; aunts Rayetta Hagerman and husband Ricky of Jolo, WV, Bonnie Cole and husband Gary of Richlands, VA, Helen Mullins of Iaeger, WV, several nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral service for Christopher Ryan Hicks will be held at the Jesus Church of Bartley in Bartley, WV, Thursday, August 9, 2018 at 12:00 noon with Reverend Pete Woods and Reverend Johnny Cooper officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery on Pea Patch Road in Grundy, VA.
Active pallbearers will be his family and friends.
The family will receive friends at the Jesus Church of Bartley, Wednesday, after 6:00 p.m. with evening service to be held at 7:00 p.m.
