Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 11 at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in LeSueur. Burial with military honors will take place at Calvary Cemetery following Mass.
William “Bill” Engel was the son of Marvin and Mildred (Moore) Engel. He was a 1960 graduate of LeSueur High School. While stationed in Anchorage, Alaska with the Army, he met Jaquelyn “Jackie” Brunner. They were married at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in LeSueur on June 27, 1964. After his enlistment, he served in the Army Reserves until 1967.
He worked for Easterlund Implement in Le Sueur, Hydra Power in Minneapolis, and retired after many years from Food Producers International in St. Louis Park.
Bill was an avid outdoorsman who loved his fishing and hunting trips with his brothers, family, and friends.
He enjoyed his time volunteering over the years, sharing his time and talents at the LeSueur Food Shelf, Jaycees, Pioneer Power Association, and St. Anne’s Church.
Bill retired after 30 years from the LeSueur Fire Department, where he spent 20 years as a pump instructor, 15 years as the president of the relief association, and was captain for 18 years.
Bill loved his family most of all. He was a loving husband and father, but most of all a wonderful grandfather, in which he had a special relationship with each of his grandchildren. He will be greatly missed.
