Andrew Paul Wood

Shreveport, LA - Andrew Paul Wood died on August 4, 2018. He was 28 years old.

Andrew was born on June 26, 1990 in Shreveport, Louisiana to Paul and Holly Wood, who encouraged him from a young age to pursue his dreams and creativity. Andrew did just that in theater as a young boy, later at Caddo Magnet High School, and through a BA degree in dramatic arts at Centenary in Shreveport. Upon completion of his undergraduate studies, he was accepted to the prestigious Stella Adler Acting Conservatory in New York City, which he completed in 2016.

Andrew was passionate about many things and if you talked to him for more than 30 seconds, you were sure to find out about them. Though the arts were his first love, he was also a dedicated follower of politics and had volunteered and worked for several political campaigns. Andrew knew the world could be better and worked to try to make it so. He also loved conversation and many friends have fond memories of staying up to the wee hours with him setting the world to rights.

Andrew died unexpectedly at his parents' home in Shreveport. He is survived by his parents, his brother Adam, sister-in-law Natasha, nephew Owen, grandmother Sophia Wood, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family. He is remembered with love by Katie Marie Frank and her son Dylan. He is preceded in death by his grandfather George Wood and grandparents Robert and Nell Hall.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests you make memorial donations to Stella Adler Studio of Acting, 31 West 27th Street, 3rd Floor, New York, NY 1001 or to the Ellerbe Baptist Church, 10705 Lennard Road, Shreveport, LA 71106.

Memorial services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at Rose-Neath Southside Chapel with visitation following after the service.

The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. Psalm 34:18
