Chester Holland, 68, of 9068 Brownsford Rd., Fountain Run, died July 15, 2003, at the Medical Center in Scottsville.
He was a retired construction and railroad worker, a member of the Red Hill Missionary Baptist Church, and an Army veteran.
Born in Macon County, Tenn. on Feb. 28, 1935, he was a son of the late Henry and Lillie (Driver) Holland. He was first married to Joyce Holland, and following her death, married Juanita (Barlow) Holland, who survives. They were married Nov. 10, 1984.
Other than his wife, survivors include a sister, Dortha Newberry, Lafayette, Tenn.; a granddaughter, Heather Rollin, Westmoreland, Tenn.; three step-daughters, Becky Howard, Jennifer Garmon and Linda Carver, all of Fountain Run; a step-son, Bill Cross, Tompkinsville; eight step-grandchildren, four step-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Two sons, Randy and Lanny Holland; three brothers, Bratton, Hatton and George Holland; and two sisters, Della Roberts and Corean West, preceded him in death.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on July 18, at the Alexander-Goad Funeral Home in Lafayette, with Elder Anthony Hale and Elder Terry Howard officiating. Burial was at the Red Hill Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers were Delbert Birge, Darren McIntyre, Eugene Woods, Joe Cornwell and Tommy and Brian Wright. Honorary pallbearers were Jimmy, Dennis and Kenneth Stinson; Mike Wright; Tuck Johnson; Billy and Bobby Sisco; Parker Tracy; Gary Stinson; Hearl Gene Franklin; Donald Roark; John Howard; John Downing; and Joe Carter.
