Born in Simpson, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Veronica Gutowski Lipieko. Carol attended Taylor schools and worked as a sewing machine operator in the garment industry for many years. She was a parishioner of St. Stanislaus Polish National Catholic Cathedral, Scranton. Throughout her life, Carole enjoyed reading, attending events with her friends and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved life and cared deeply for everyone in her life.
Surviving are a daughter and caregiver, Karen Catalano and husband, Phillip, Pittston Twp.; two sons, the Rev. Deacon Dr. Leonard Roberts, Bloomfield, N.J.; and Scott Roberts and wife, Diane, Evans, Ga.; six grandchildren, Jason Catalano and wife, Sarah; Jessica Talarico and husband, Nick; Erin Johnston and husband, Ryan; Rebecca Catalano and companion, Chad Vrabel; and Arianna and Christopher Roberts; 11 great-grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Donna Roberts; nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by brothers, Michael, Frank and John; as well as sisters, Wanda Moher, Ann Stepelevitch and Janet Rudat.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday at 10 a.m. in St. Stanislaus Polish National Catholic Cathedral, 529 E. Locust St., Scranton. Private interment will be in the parish cemetery.
