Bio by Cheryll Morris Sumner (She was the sister of my grandfather):

Maryann Delilah Black, called Did, was the daughter of Elkanah L. Black and Elizabeth Lee. She married Mason H. "Mace" Blackburn October of 1891. By 1900 Mace and Did and their three children were on the 1900 census of Escambia County, Alabama, living in a community called Local. Several other Butler County Alabama families/relatives were their neighbors.

G-Aunt Did was said to be fun, funny, and jolly, a teller of funny tales who loved to laugh. She had twin girls (Lula and Lola) and one boy Burney before 1900, and two boys (Jack and Jimmy Jones) after 1900, but she also lost three children. Her obit says "she was laid beside three of her children." I found an obit for a son who died of burns in December of 1909. I have no info on the others except one was said to be a daughter named Lizzie. So great-aunt Did experienced lots of tragedy before her death at age 48. One of the worst was the disappearance of her husband Mace c. 1910 who was tragically murdered.

The Black Family Bible says Did died April 28, 1918.
Her death certificate says she died April 29, 1918.
