Donald Gene Thompson, 83, a retired minister and carpenter of Shreveport, Louisiana, died on Saturday, February 18, 2017 at Guest House Nursing Facility following complications from Alzheimer’s Disease.

Mr. Thompson, will be laid to rest privately, on Wednesday, February 22, 2017. A Graveside visitation will be held in his honor, on Thursday, February 23, 2017.

Donald Gene Thompson was born September 9, 1933 in Taylor, Arkansas.

Donald was preceded in death by his wife Erline Thompson, parents, Arthur and Annie Willis Thompson, five brothers: Casey, Leo, Terrell, Jimmy Dale, Cody Thompson, and five sisters: Doshie Tompkins, Ola Mae Mason, Erdis Barlow, Idell Denman, and Pauline Allen.

Mr. Thompson is survived by one sister: Toy Livingston.

We would like opportunity to say a heartfelt thank you to his longtime friend, Neilly Long, who stood by his side through thick and thin, throughout this awful disease called: Alzheimer’s. Additionally, thank you to the Guest House Nursing Facility, who made his last days comfortable not only for Donald but for his last living sibling, Toy Livingston.
