Cunningham, Gayle

Gayle Cunningham was born on March 8, 1939, and went to be with our Lord, and his wife, Trudy, on Aug. 1, 2018.

He is survived by his children, Leon (Wanda) Cunningham, Mark (Karen) Cunningham and Christi (Darrell) Bradshaw; as well as step-children, Mark McDuffee and Kathy (Mike) Barnes; many stepgrandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 37 years, Trudy Cunningham; mother, Bertha Mullins, father, Guy Cunningham; and step-daughter, Nan (Joe) Fabrizio.

Gayle attended school in Sanford, Colo., and immediately after graduation in 1957, went to work for the Denver and Rio Grande Railroad.

He met and married Trudy in 1975.

After 37 years, he retired from the railroad in 1993 and helped Trudy with her business of raising poodles and peekapoos.

A year after Trudy passed, he sealed himself to her in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints temple in Denver.

Gayle leaves behind a host of close friends, dog owners, and all those that loved him and Trudy. Those who knew him know that more words about his generous soul are unnecessary.

The family would like to thank Independent Hearts Home Health for the care they gave him and a special thanks to his loving caregivers, Angel and Waunell.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 8, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 4720 Surfwood Lane, Pueblo.

A public viewing is scheduled from 4:30 to 6:30 on Tuesday, Aug. 7, at Imperial Memorial Gardens, 5450 Highway 78 West.
