North Augusta, SC—Memorial Graveside Services for James Michael Tompkins, 68, who entered rest August 2, 2018 will be conducted Friday morning at 11 o’clock in the Pine Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with Veterans Honors. Rev. Frank Barker officiating.
Mr. Tompkins was born in Hattiesburg, MS, a former resident of Virginia Beach, VA, having made North Augusta his home for the past two years. He graduated Strom Thurmond High School and later received his bachelor’s degree with a full naval scholarship from the University of South Carolina. Mr. Tompkins was a retired Senior Systems Analysis with Hewett Packard and was a U. S. Navy Veteran having served his country faithfully for 15 years.
Survivors include his wife, Ginny Tompkins, Virginia Beach, VA; his mother, Jewel Boyles, North Augusta, SC; a brother and sister-in-law, Barry and Pam Tompkins, Irmo, SC; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Marla Clower, Albany, GA; Cheryl Dean and Charles Trotter, Aiken, SC; a number of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends following the graveside service.
