Jessie "Jakie" Rebecca McKinney Bowen, of Huntersville, was born November 15, 1922 and passed August 2, 2018.

Jakie is survived by her 3 daughters, Georgia Bowen Davis, Sandy Bowen Baumgarten, Sally Bowen Roberts, 2 grandsons, 4 granddaughters, 14 great grandchildren. Jakie is preceded in death by her husband Thomas Baxter "George" Bowen.

Jakie was born on November 15, 1922 in York County SC to the late Walter & Sallie McKinney. Jakie loved having lunch dates with friends, playing farkle, looking at old and new pictures, holding babies and mostly having friends and family visit her. She was an amazing story teller and kept a journal for many years that her family and friends loved to hear her read. She loved doing her crafts like sewing, cooking and painting.

Mama, Mom, Mother, Gmaw, Mee Maw, Maw Maw, Grandmother, MMJ, Maw Maw Jakie, Grandmaw, Mudder Mee Maw, will missed by many and loved by everyone.

Visitation will be held at 11:00 a.m. at James Funeral Home in Huntersville, Monday August 6, 2018, with funeral services following in the chapel at noon. Burial will follow at Charlotte Memorial Gardens, 7632 Hood Rd, Charlotte, NC.
