Russell T Pyle, 71, of 156 Winn Road West Falmouth died Thursday at a Portland hospital after a long illness.

He was oin Presque Isle, a son of Emery W. and Nettie Chase Pyle, and attended Patten schools.

Mr. Pyle was employed for 15 years by Southworth Machine Co., retiring in 1979. He was a member and trustee of Emmanuel Temple, Portland.

Surviving are his mother of Houlton; his wife of 51 years, Ora Marie Giles Pyle of Falmouth; four sons, Donald E. of Augusta, Ronald P. and Larry R. both of Falmouth, and Daniel L. of Portland; two daughters, Mrs. Roger (Marie) Hamm of Mattawamkeag, and Mrs. Daniel (Joyce) McFate of Boise Idaho; a brother, the Rev. Norman E. Pyle of Geneva; NY two sisters, Mrs. Scott (Amy) Davis and Mrs. Norman (Ruby) Botting, both of Patten; 17 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

A funeral will be held at 2 pm tomorrow at Hay and Peabody Funeral Home, 749 Congress St Portland. The Rev Daniel Kelchner will officiate. Spring burial will be in Blanchard Cemetery
