James G. Beaton
Oct. 22, 1934 - June 4, 2018

James G. Beaton, 83, of Pemaquid, passed away on the evening of June 4 at the Maine Veterans Home in Augusta. Jim was born in Boston, Mass. on Oct. 22, 1934, to John and Laura (McKay) Beaton.

Jim served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps for three years, from 1953-1956. Upon his honorable discharge, he went to work and eventually retired as a director for Dupont Chemical where he worked for over 38 years.

Jim was a former Little League baseball, and Pop Warner football coach for many years in Massachusetts. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, the American Legion, and the Marine Corps League.

Besides his parents, Jim was predeceased by his first wife, Mary Ann; brother, George Beaton; and sister, Lois Rosenfield.

He is survived by wife, Joyce Moran Beaton; sons, James S. Beaton and John R. Beaton; daughter, Patricia Jackson; sisters, Joan Callahan and Mary Callahan; brother-in-law, Robert Harrington and wife Lorraine; as well as many nieces, nephews and special cousins from Prince Edward Island and Cape Breton, Nova Scotia.

A funeral mass will be held at St. Patrick’s Church in Newcastle later in the summer.
