Roderick "Rick" Leland Jones age 63, of White Pine, TN.; formerly of Fairfax, Virginia, passed away Monday July 30, 2018, at Park-West Hospital in Knoxville, TN.

Preceded in death by his parents, Lt. Colonel, Donald Ross Jones, USMC and Patricia Roderick Jones.

He is survived by his fiancée, Connie Johnson also of White Pine, TN. His daughters, Amanda Vance (Jason-Husband) of Fairfax, Virginia and Danielle Jones of Vienna, Virginia. Sister, Ceilie Jones Holmes of Edgewater, Maryland. Grandson, Landon Vance of Fairfax, Virginia. And extended grandchildren, Allison Belcher of Lexington, Kentucky, Jeremiah Belcher of Salesville, Ohio and Dylan Belcher of White Pine, TN. Along with a host of other relatives and many, many loving friends that he treasured and will miss him.

Rick was born in 1955 in Newport Beach, CA. while his father was stationed nearby. Rick lived in several areas of the country while his father served in the USMC including Hawaii. The family settled into the Springfield, VA area in the early '70s. Rick graduated from West Springfield High School in 1974. From there he pursued an education in computer science where he received both an under graduate and a graduate degree. Rick had a very distinguished career in the public and private sector as a Computer and Systems Specialist and later a defense contractor. After the births of his daughters, Rick took a very active role as both a coach and a referee for the Chantilly Youth Association League where he was respected and loved. Additionally, during Rick's life he also held a Realtor's license for nearly 40 years. Rick was a local sports fan and was a longtime season ticket holder for the Washington Redskins and the DC United. He was also a music lover and avid movie watcher.

Visitation will be held on Monday, August 6th from 1:00pm - 7:00pm at Alder Funeral Home, 4524 West Andrew Johnson Hwy. Morristown, TN: alderfuneralhome.com. The funeral and internment will be held on Tuesday August 7th at 12:00pm at the Resthaven Memorial Gardens 2642 Hwy 25, Dandridge, TN 37725 resthavenmemorialgardens.com A tribute donation to the Parkinson's Foundation in memory of Roderick Leland Jones can be made in lieu of flowers. http://parkinson.org/-to-give
