Charley T. Ashley, 76, of Dyess, died Jan. 16, 1987 at Baptist Central Hospital, Memphis Tn. He was born Oct 10, 1910 in Terry, Mississippi. He was the husband of Mrs. Thides Ashley. He was retired from American Greetings Corp. He was of the First Baptist belief of Dyess, Ar. He was also a member of the Mason Lodge in Dyess.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Thides Ashley of Dyess; six sons, Charles Ashley , Larry Ashley, both of West Memphis, Ar., Bud Ashley of Bridgeview, Ill., Bobby Ashley of Marion, Ar., Jerry Ashley of Aurora, Ill., and Donald Ray Ashley of Hebert, La.; four daughters, Melba Pequeno of Chicago, Ill., Ann Gilley of Aurora, Ill., Joyce Sparks of Westridge, Ar. and [Gail Kilburn of Marianna, Ar.; four brothers, LeRoy Ashley of Ind., Allen Ashley of Alabama, Oscar Ashley of Arkansas, William Ashley of Mich., and Grady Ashley of Mich., one sister, Carlene Edmond of Jacksonville, Fla.; twenty four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Jan. 19, 1987 at Swift Colonial chapel in Osceola. Burial was held at Bassett Cemetery, Bassett. Ron Batchelor officiating.
