Mr. Bonham was born October 23, 1961, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, the son of Lula Belle (Flinn) and James Lloyd Bonham Jr. After graduating from Garland High School in 1980, John honored his country by serving in the United States Navy for four years.
In 1996, he met the love of his life, Alma. Together they raised three wonderful children, Karol, Chris and Katy. John was a fierce protector of his family as well as a dedicated husband and father. He was an honest, hardworking, and loving family man with a tremendous sense of humor. He loved to laugh and to make others laugh. He was strong willed and never shy about voicing his opinion. He loved talking politics and history as well as doing home improvement projects and gardening with his wife. More than anything, however, he loved spending time with his family. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
John is survived by his beloved family, wife, Alma Bonham, children Karol Harmon and husband, Marcus; son, Christopher Bonham and daughter, Katy Bonham; his father, James Lloyd Bonham and his wife, Darline; sister, Cheryl Love and husband, Donnie; sister, Sonia Thornley and husband, Chris; brother, Curtis Bonham and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Lula Belle Flinn Bonham Pace.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 7, 2018, at Fisher Funeral Chapel with Pastor Jim Hodson officiating. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery with military honors. Family visitations will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, August 6, 2018 at Fisher Funeral Home in Denison.
