Services will be Monday for Gemma J. Cruz, who died Wednesday at her home in Watsonville, CA. She was 41.
Ms Cruz had lived in Corralitos since 1971. She graduated from Aptos Hight School in 1975. She was a volunteer for Independence Square and enjoyed reading and shopping. She was also a creative writer.
Gemma is survived by her brother, Antonio J. Cruz of Canton, MI; her sister, Mary Gwinn of Scottsdale, AZ; her aunt, Alice M. Lopez of Watsonville, CA; and three nephews. Gemma was very close to her Aunt Alice and spent many hours with her at Independence Square.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Epifanio (Pete) Cruz and Caroline (Lopez) Cruz.
Funeral services are scheduled for Monday at 1 PM at Mehl's Colonial Chapel, Watsonville, CA. Friends may call Monday from 8 AM until the service begins. Burial will follow at Pajaro Valley Memorial Park, Watsonville, CA.
