Robert M. "Rob" Lashley Jr., 46, of Deerfield Township, passed away unexpectedly doing what he loved on Monday evening July 30, 2018.

The husband of Virginia K. "Ginger" Lashley, he was born in Bridgeton and was the son of Phyllis "Pege" Lashley (nee Hunt) of Bridgeton and the late Robert M. Lashley Sr. He was a 1991 graduate of Bridgeton High School and a lifelong area resident.

Rob worked for the last three years as a truck driver for Foundry Service Corp. in Vineland. previously he had worked for Sheppard Bus Service in Fairton and as a mechanic. Rob loved Ford Mustangs and enjoyed restoring the older models. He enjoyed studying genealogy with Ginger and he was a devoted Philadelphia Eagles fan as well as a fan of NASCAR. Rob had a passion for science fiction. He also loved barbecuing where he was known as the "Grill Master".

In addition to his wife of 6 years, he is survived by three children, Danielle O'Neill (Kris) of Gibbsboro, PO3 Robert Lashley III, U.S. Navy, stationed in San Diego, CA and Kevin Stanfa, Jr. at home, two sisters, Sally Pierce of Bridgeton and Lizanne Harris (Kenny) of Blackwood and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a son, Benjamin E. Lashley in 2016.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral service on Tuesday afternoon, August 7th at 2 o'clock at the Freitag Funeral Home, 137 W. Commerce Street in Bridgeton with Pastor David L. Strope of the West Park United Methodist Church officiating.

The interment will take place at Overlook Cemetery in Bridgeton.

Friends will be received Monday evening August 6th at the funeral home between 6 and 8 and again on Tuesday afternoon between 1 and 2pm.

The family request that donations be made in Rob's memory to West Park United Methodist Church, Attn: Youth Ministries, 625 Shiloh Pike, Bridgeton, NJ 08302.
