Rita Lynn Wegner, age 34, of Crooks, passed away on Saturday, November 18, 2017, following a brief illness. She will be sorely missed by many friends and family members. Memorial services will begin at 11:00 AM Wednesday, November 22, 2017, at the Faith Community Church in Colton. Memorial visitation will begin one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be set up for her son Matthew’s education at Great Western Bank in Crooks.

Rita was born on August 12, 1983, in Sioux Falls, to Brad and Teri (Dirksen) Wegner. She attended Tri-Valley Schools and graduated in 2002. She was a confessing member of Faith Community Church in Colton.

She leaves behind a son, Matthew of Crooks; parents, Brad and Teri Wegner of Crooks; sisters: Tena (Ace) Palmer of Henderson, Nevada, and Cari Wegner and her friend, Casey White of Lennox; a special friend, Kent Swier, of Sioux Falls; grandfather, Creighton Wegner of Hawarden, Iowa; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by grandparents, Herman and Tena Dirksen, grandmother, Vi Wegner, and uncle, Ron Dirksen.

In keeping with Rita’s loving and generous spirit, it was her wish to donate life so that others may live.
