Bonnie was a member of Zion United Methodist Church for more than 50 years. She loved her church family and special angels who were there for her in sickness and health. Bonnie was a faithful servant to her church, member of the ladies group, helped with bake sales, worked with original quilters, and always willing to help clean up. Her favorite hobby was building jigsaw puzzles. She loved anything with butterflies, watching birds, checking out what flowers were blooming and collecting key rings.
Survivors include her two sisters, Ann Carter Reed (Mike) and Betty Carter Gelfuso (Lou); brother Carlton Carter (Jill); 23 nieces and nephews who she dearly loved; and one special “lunch buddy”, Arlene Crislip. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mason and Margaret Carter.
The family will receive friends from 5 to7 p.m. on Sunday, August 5 at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg.
A service will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, August 6 at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery.
In lieu flowers, donations may be made to Zion United Methodist Church, 8700 Courthouse Road, Spotsylvania, VA 22553.
