Mr. Frank Leonard Turner, Sr. was born to Mrs. Rose Lee Chaney Carter and the late Mr. James Turner on November 9, 1951, in Thomaston, Upson County, Georgia. He received his early education in the Upson County School System and graduated from Drake High School.

After high school he joined the United States Air Force. He served from January 28, 1971, through January 23, 1975, and received an honorable discharge. He met Ms. Leona Matthews also during this time. She captured his heart and they were joined in holy matrimony on August 12, 1971. He was the father of two sons, Frank Turner, Jr., and Toby Turner. To provide for his family he worked as an auto mechanic. He owned his own business and was very skilled mechanic.

During his leisure time, he enjoyed working on cars, fishing, and spending time with his grandchildren, his dogs, and cats.

On Saturday, April 7, 2018, the Lord called his name, he answered the call and went home to rest. He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.

He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife, Mrs. Leona Turner of Thomaston, GA; his mother, Mrs. Rose Lee Carter of Thomaston, GA; two sons, Mr. Frank (Carolyn) Turner, Jr., of Thomaston, GA, and Mr. Toby (Shavette) Turner of Columbus, GA; five grandchildren, Tama Turner, Lillian Turner, Laiya Turner, Evan Turner, and Sara Martinez; two brothers Mr. Johnnie Lewis Collier of Thomaston, GA, and Mr. Willie Ed Copeland of Manchester, GA; aunts and uncle include Mrs. Susie Chaney, Mrs. Margie Chaney and Mr. Willie (Linda) Chaney all of Thomaston, GA; sisters and brothers-in-law include Minister Mary M. Kendall, Mrs. Rubbie Blasingame, Ms. Patricia Matthews, Deacon A.C. (Clementine) Matthews, Jr., Deacon Michael (Audrey) Matthews, Ms. Lesa Hayes, Deacon Tony (Lisa) Matthews, all of Thomaston, GA., and Mrs. Virginia (Bernard) Freeman of Griffin, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
