Frank Abitz, 74, of Onaga, formerly of Wheaton, died Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at the Community Hospital in Onaga.

He was born September 9, 1937 at Wheaton, the son of Otto and Jessie Day Abitz . He attended grade school at Duluth and graduated from Wheaton High School in 1955. He served with the U.S. Army in Germany.

He was a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church at Wheaton.

Frank worked in drywall construction all his life, first with G.W. Drywall in Kansas City, then moving back to Wheaton, he and his brother had A & A Drywall. He later worked for Dovetail Construction and Mark Krohn Construction, retiring May 10, 1996.

He married Mary Kay Lolley on June 23, 1962 at Wheaton. She survives, of the home.

Frank was preceded in death by a daughter, Michelle "Shelly" Abitz Weisbender, and a brother, Roger Abitz.

Other survivors include two daughters, Sheila Krohn, Circleville, and Stacy Schwartz and husband Alan, Onaga; one brother, Gene Abitz, Westmoreland; two sisters, Erma Kufahl, Wheaton, and Janice Loughmiller, Onaga; and four grandchildren, Michael Ridder and wife Stacy, Jordan Krohn, Aaron Schwartz, and Kenzie Schwartz.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 9th at St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Wheaton. Burial with military honors will follow in St. Luke's Cemetery
