William Morris Siegel, Jr., “Billy”

March 17, 1969-July 28, 2018

William Morris Siegel, Jr., “Billy” was taken from us suddenly in a car accident on Saturday July 28, 2018, while returning from a golf trip with two of his good friends who also passed.

Billy was born at NAS Lemoore March 17, 1969 and attended Lemoore schools, graduating from Lemoore High in 1987. The college years stretched out over a decade due to his love of good times. He eventually earned a degree in Ag Business from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo.

Upon graduating Billy began the search for his perfect profession and in the process worked in environmental cleanup with Westmark Environmental, and then sold cars at Valley Ford. He followed that by becoming a business owner of PIG Designs. Next, he saw an opportunity to revamp The Hub in Riverdale where he enjoyed bringing it to life again. His perfect profession was being a stay-at-home dad to Lyla and Cooper, allowing his wife Natalie to pursue her career as a CPA and partner with M. Green and Company. A big kid himself, his children had the good fortune to experience life from a “Billy” point of view. He even taught them about taxes, often taking a “tax” of whatever good snack or treat they would try to enjoy. In the final year of his life he decided to become a security software expert which allowed him to work from home.

Concerned about the viability of small businesses in Lemoore Billy entered the political arena by serving on the Lemoore City Council, serving two terms from 2008-2016, some of which he served as mayor. He put countless hours into researching the background of every issue at hand, interviewing city staff and citizens to determine the best outcome for Lemoore's residents and business owners.

His life was enriched by his friends from many generations; he related to people on a deep level where age was irrelevant. Billy thrived on helping others overcome challenges and tragedies. A friend of Billy's was a friend for life; he modeled loyalty in its highest form.

It is hard to say which sport Billy loved more - golfing or skiing. He could be found at the Kings Country Club most days either practicing chipping and putting after dropping the kids off at school, or when they were younger, using the sand trap as a sand box for them while he practiced putting. He played many rounds with his 1:00 tee-time buddies, a group of scratch golfers. Skiing was a lifelong passion. As a professional ski instructor, he was honored to help those with disabilities experience the joy of skiing through the Central California Adaptive Sports program at China Peak Mountain Resort.

Billy is survived by his loving wife Natalie, his twins Lyla and Cooper Siegel, and daughter Trista Noland of San Luis Obispo; his mother Cathy of Hanford; his father Bill and wife Mary of Templeton; his sister Lori Siegel of Poulsbo, Washington; step-brothers Jeremy (Lacie) and Bryan (Hayley) Hightower of Templeton, and by his nieces and nephews Darcy Steffen, Jake Skelley, Thomas and Grace Hightower, and Raelynn Hightower.

Services and a celebration of life will be held at the Veteran's Memorial Hall at 3085 Mt. Whitney Ave. in Riverdale Saturday August 4 at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Billy's memory to the Central California Adaptive Sports Center at PO Box 147, Shaver Lake, CA 93664. Please write “Winter Sports Program-Billy” on the memo line. Alternatively, online donations can be made at centralcaladaptive.org.
