Carrol Alm, 83, was born on November 13, 1924, in Osakis, Minnesota. He was the son of Fred and Dorothea (Harms) Alm.
Carrol married Geraldine Trisco on July 12, 1945, in Sauk Centre, Minnesota.
He farmed near Alexandria, Minnesota, until the 1950’s, when they moved to Worthington, Minnesota.
Carrol worked as a mechanic for Chevy dealers and then became a master mechanic for General Motors, which was a feat he accomplished while being deaf.
At the age of 83, he was still pulling motors as a hobby.
Carrol was a member of a bowling league until he was 81 and was an avid Minnesota Twins and Vikings fan. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and visiting with friends and family.
Carrol died on Thursday, July 24, 2008, at his home near Brewster, Minnesota.
Carrol is survived by four children, Carol Cafarelli of Eagan, Minnesota, Judy Alm of Brewster, Minnesota, Stan (Donna) Alm of Worthington, Minnesota, and Susanne (Kenny) Altman of Brewster, Minnesota; nine grandchildren; seven great grandchildren, and one sister, Shirley Dickinson of Waite Park, Minnesota.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine; his son, Michael Alm; a granddaughter, Christianna Alm; his parents, Fred and Alvina Alm; three brothers, Norm, Melvin, and LeRoy, and four sisters, Bernice, Gladys, Dorothy, and Clarice.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 29, 2008, at 10:30 a.m., at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Worthington, Minnesota, with Father Larry Brixius officiating.
Casket bearers will be Jorge Sigala, Al Kuehl, Bennie Gerdes, Richard Rutgers, Paul Mathias, and Juan Sigala.
Burial will be in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Worthington.
