Michael E. Henson, age 66, of Forest City, passed away Thursday, August 2, 2018 at the Charles George VA Medical Center in Asheville.
Born November 26, 1951 in Rutherford County, he was the son of the late Max Henson and Dot Reynolds Henson.
He was a graduate of Chase High School, class of 1970 and served in the U.S. Navy and was a veteran of the Vietnam War.
Michael worked in construction as a welder most of his life and loved riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by grandparents, Lawson and Edna Reynolds and Roland and Minnie Henson.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of forty-four years, Deborah Quinn Henson; one son, Shiloh Michael Henson and wife, Jennifer of Rutherfordton. He is also survived by a granddaughter, Madison Henson.
The funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 4, 2018 at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Bob Philbeck officiating. Interment will follow in Eternal Hills Memorial Park with military honors being rendered by the Rutherford County Honor Guard. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.
