Amber Michelle Hurlbert Powell, 41 of Harrodsburg died Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center, in Lexington. Born April 21, 1977 in Harrodsburg, Amber was the daughter of Wanda Jo Huffman Nevius and Brian Hurlbert. She was a former employee of Dana Manufacturing and a member of the Pioneer Baptist Church. She enjoyed art and crafting projects. In addition to her mother and father, Amber is survived by three sons: Lucas Cole Powell, Alston Michael Griffin and Lincoln Thomas Griffin all of Harrodsburg, her maternal grandmother: Dixie Huffman of Harrodsburg, one brother: Dustin Hurlbert of Harrodsburg and one step brother: Bryan (Crystal) Nevius of Harrodsburg. Several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins also survive. Amber was preceded in death by her step-father: Bobby Nevius, maternal grandfather, paternal grandmother and grandfather and her step-grandparents. Funeral services will be conducted, 2:00 P.M., Sunday, August 5, 2018 at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home with Greg Warren officiating. Burial will be in the Spring Hill Cemetery with Lee Lester, Jeff Lester, Donnie Lester, Kenny Milburn, Randy Connelly and Keith Caton serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Seth Hurlbert, Kaylie Hurlbert, Zachary Thacker, Cara Denson and Hannah Denson.Visitation will be held 5:30 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., Saturday, August 4, 2018 at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home and after 10:00 A.M. Sunday until the time of service. While flowers are welcome, memorial contributions may also take the form of donations to The Schwartz Center, 3479 Buckhorn Drive, Lexington, KY 40515.
