Thomas William Norton, Sr. age 75, of Vale passed away Monday, July 30, 2018 at Carolinas HealthCare System in Lincolnton.
Born March 7, 1943 in Catawba County, he was the son of the late Obery Norton and Helen Lefevers Wynn. He was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Jo-Ann Moses and brother, Gene Norton.
Survivors include:
Wife of 34 years: Betty Carter Norton of the home
3 Daughters: Teresa Norris and husband Tom of Rhodhiss, Linda Cozzens and husband Marc of Durham and Crystal Parrott and husband Seth of Bayboro, NC
2 Sons: Thomas Norton, Jr. and wife Marta of Matthews and Tim Norton of Hillsboro
4 Step-sons: Bill Baker of Thailand, Benjamin Baker of Lincolnton, Thomas Baker of Burlington and Michael Baker of Durham
2 Sisters: Alice Faye Bowman of Claremont and Susan Carson of Hickory
2 Brothers: Danny Norton of Viewmont and Johnny Norton of Mt View
20 Grandchildren and 19 Great Grandchildren
The funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 4, 2018 at 12 Noon at Shady Grove Baptist Church in Connelly Springs with Pastor Billy Mace officiating.
Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
