Stacey loved animals and loved spending time outdoors. She was involved in 4-H, played softball, and loved to be with her horse “Lady”. Stacey graduated from ADM High School in 1984 and attended Northwest Missouri State University.

Stacey lived in Chicago for 12 years, eventually moving home to care for her father who was ill.

She met her husband, Matt and they were married in 2008.

She worked for the Iowa Department of Natural Resources – she was so grateful to all of her coworkers and friends who have helped her over the past few years. She also volunteered a great deal of time to the National Wild Turkey Federation – she was the Save the Hunt Coordinator for the State of Iowa and was on the Iowa Chapter State Board.

Stacey spent most of her last two years battling Leukemia at Mayo Clinic. She stayed at the Gift of Life Transplant House in Rochester, where she greatly appreciated the caring staff.

Stacey is survived by her husband, Matt; daughters, Jessica (Brian) Heim, Amy (Josh) Tiefenthaler; mother, Sue Sipe; grandchildren, Haley Sever, Ella, Brooklyn and Nora Tiefenthaler; uncles, John Coleman and Bill Pecora; aunt, Marilyn Wilde; cousins, Ronda Wine and Scott Wine; and father and mother-in-law, Larry and Sally Smith, and her three puppies – Kaine, Zoe, and Kooper.

She is preceded in death by her father, Larry Sipe; brother, David Sipe; grandparents, Ronald and Betty Coleman, Omar and Dorothy Sipe; and Aunt, Karen Pecora.

Memorial contributions may be given to the Gift of Life Transplant House.
