Daniel Packard Bartlett, age 73, of Yuba City, California, passed away on July 24, 2018. He was born on July 20, 1945, in South San Francisco to wonderful parents, Robert Taylor Bartlett and Patricia Delmege Packard Bartlett, who preceded him in death.

Dan is survived by daughter, Phaedra (Shawn) Glidden and grandson, Sawyer Glidden, from Santa Rosa, California; sisters, Roxanne Bartlett (Charles Frey) from Seattle, Washington; and Susan (James) Bergens from Medaryville, Indiana; three nieces; two grandnephews; and one grandniece.

Dan shared many fond memories, such as camping and fishing adventures with family and friends. After graduating from Yuba City High School, he enlisted in the Navy and served his country as communications and electronic technician on the destroyer, "The Gurke DD783," patrolling the South China Sea and the Gulf of Tonkin off the coast of Vietnam and escorting several aircraft carriers. When he returned from duty, he attended and graduated from Yuba College. He served several jobs, including operating a forklift at a transformer plant in Oakland owned by General Electric. Dan also worked at his father's auto dealership in Marysville.

Dan has dedicated many hours as a volunteer at various mental health organizations that benefit clients and families, including NAMI and MHA, where he was president-elect.

Daniel's ashes will be scattered by close family members at Lake Tahoe, where he loved fishing and swimming when he was growing up.
