Edward F. Sliney of 1159 Smithfield Ave., Lincoln, formerly of Providence, died yesterday after a short illness. He was the husband of the late Margaret C. (Heffernan) Sliney.

Born in Providence, a son of the late Patrick and Ellen (Hart) Sliney, he had been a resident of Lincoln for one year. Mr. Sliney was employed by the forestry dept. of the City of Providence before his retirement in 1948.

Survivors are three daughters, Mrs. Edward S. O'Laughlin of Providence, Mrs. Arthur Duhamel of Warwick and Mrs. Irving J. Shore of Pawtucket; two sons, Thomas E. of Warwick and John J. Sliney of Lincoln and 15 grandchildren.

Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket, RI
