Obituary for Carolyn Jean Murphy

Carolyn Jean Murphy, age 74, of rural Knoxville, Iowa died at her home on Tuesday, July 31, 2018.

Visitation for Carolyn will begin at 2:00 P.M., on Friday, August 3, 2018 from 6:00-8:00 P.M., with family present at the Winfield Funeral Home in Knoxville. At 8:00 P.M. a rosary will be held, led by Father Kevin Anstey.

Mass of Christian Burial will held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, August 4, 2108 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Knoxville. A private burial will be held at Little Flock Cemetery in rural Knoxville.

Remaining to cherish Carolyn’s memory is her husband of 53 years John Murphy of Knoxville; son, Patrick Murphy (Stacey Sumpter) of Knoxville and daughter Dianna (Daniel) Jordan of Ames, three grandsons: Craig, Nicholas, and Joseph Jordan, and one sister-in-law Leslie Vander Linden. Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents Paul and Betty VanderLinden, brother Paul “Butch” Vander Linden Jr., and daughter Marilyn Murphy.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Heifer International.
