Pfc. Zachary Gullett, 20, of Hillsboro, died Tuesday morning after collapsing during calisthenics, Army spokesmen told his family. The cause of death had not been determined. Zachary Gullett had been injured March 17 while on patrol south of Baghdad. He suffered a concussion in an attack in which two other soldiers were injured. After that, he had spent some time at home with his parents before returning to duty a week ago.

"He seemed to be in pretty good spirits," his brother said. "He kind of laughed off the whole thing, like, 'I got hit in the head with a brick."'

Gullett joined the Army in February 2006 and was deployed Sept. 16 for a 12-month tour of duty.
