Franklin J. “Frank” Wood, 84, died Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at Harbor Haven Health & Rehabilitation in Fond du Lac. He was born in Fond du Lac on May 22, 1934, a son of John and Ellen (Burgess) Wood. Frank was a graduate of North Fond du Lac High School and was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Frank enjoyed hunting, fishing and walking in Lakeside Park. In 1989, he retired as a Captain from Taycheedah Correctional Institution.
Survivors include his son, Michael Wood; his former wife, Ann Wood; two sisters, Nora Sabel and Lorraine Higuchi; two sisters-in-law, Therese Wood and Dorothy Wood; special friend, Barb Detloff; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Henry Wood, John Wood and David Wood; two sisters, Aileen (Joe) Zamzow and Alice (Darold) Hoeppner; and brother-in-law, Chuck Sabel.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM, Friday, August 3, 2018 at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, 524 N. Park Ave. in Fond du Lac. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM with burial in Calvary Cemetery to follow the services.
