Mr. Thomas M. Mims, age 86, of Hazlehurst, died Saturday, March 31, 2018 at his residence.
Mr. Mims was born January 30, 1932 in Jeff Davis County to the late Eddie Brooks Mims and the late Mamie Hall Mims. He was a Veteran of the United States Navy, the former co-owner of the Tastee-Freeze, retired farmer and member of Mims Baptist Church. Mr. Mims is preceded in death by his sisters, Eddie Lee Mims Hyers and Ethelyne Mims Hyers.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Marie Nettles Mims of Hazlehurst; daughter and son-in-law, Becky Mims Butler (Stanley) of Rutledge; two sons and daughters-in-law, Eddie Mims (Tammie) of Hazlehurst and Richard Mims (Cathy) of Hazlehurst; sister, Georgia Mims Herrington of Baxley; seven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews also survived.
Visitation will be held Monday evening from 6:00-8:00 pm at Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home. Graveside funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 03, 2018 at 2:00 pm in the Mims Family Cemetery with Rev. Steve Toler officiating.
Active pallbearers will be grandsons, Christopher Mims, Chris Bohannon, Tyler Mims, Joshua Mims, Jake Butler and Kaleb Marchant.
